Blender 2.5
I've done a good bit of scripting so far in Blender 2.49, but at SIGGRAPH, the primary creator of Blender demonstrated 2.5 for me and it is definitely worth switching before we get any further into production. It's a completely new (and usable) interface. Almost everything is keyable. You can hover over any property/option and get a helpful tip + the code to access that item through Python. This is going to make the project MUCH easier. Now to download it from SVN and get it compiled + installed...
